CODE OF CONDUCT

Introduction

The Northern Beaches Heat Basketball Club is committed to promoting fair play, respect, and sportsmanship within the Cairns Basketball Inc. Junior Competition. As a member of this competition, the club operates under the rules and regulations set forth by Cairns Basketball Inc. and is further governed by the Basketball Queensland Management Framework. By registering to play with our club, all participants and their families agree to abide by these guidelines to ensure a positive and safe environment for everyone involved.

Objectives

  1. Promote Fair Play: Encourage all players, coaches, and spectators to demonstrate fairness and honesty in all aspects of the game.
  2. Foster Respect: Ensure respect for all participants, including players, coaches, officials, and spectators.
  3. Ensure Safety: Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all members of the club.
  4. Encourage Development: Support the athletic and personal development of all players through constructive feedback and positive reinforcement.

General Conduct

  1. Players:
    – Show respect to coaches, officials, teammates, and opponents at all times.
    – Follow the rules of the game and accept the decisions of officials without argument.
    – Demonstrate sportsmanship, whether winning or losing.
    – Attend training sessions and matches punctually and with a positive attitude.
  2. Coaches:
    – Provide positive and constructive feedback to all players.
    – Lead by example, demonstrating respect for all participants and officials.
    – Create an inclusive environment where all players can develop their skills.
    – Abide by the rules and regulations set by Cairns Basketball Inc. and Basketball Queensland.
  3. Parents and Spectators:
    – Encourage all players and applaud good performance from both teams.
    – Respect the decisions of officials and coaches.
    – Refrain from using inappropriate language or behaviour.
    – Allow coaches to coach without interference during training sessions and on game days.
    – Support the team and club positively and constructively.

The Northern Beaches Heat Basketball Club adheres to the rules and regulations of the Cairns Basketball Inc. Junior Competition and the Basketball Queensland Management Framework. Breach of Conduct

Any breach of this Code of Conduct will be taken seriously and may result in disciplinary action. This can include, but is not limited to, warnings, suspension, or expulsion from the club, depending on the severity of the breach.
